BT Pricing Specialist in Beijing, China

KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE

  • Provide support (commercial & technical) for all customer access costing requirements for BT Internal Sales Channels & External Distribution Channels, liaising with internal & external suppliers to ensure the service provided meets the expectations of the BT internal sales channels & the external distribution channels.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Nature of the work

  • To manage high volumes of 3rd party access costing requests from pan-BT sales channels & external distribution channels

  • To ensure access costing is accurate and delivered on time.

  • To evaluate, verify & manage access requirements & obtain appropriate access costs for customer bids, on behalf of Market Units, responding within required timeframes.

  • To deliver improved end customer experience on pricing turnaround time, RFT quote responses and optimal use of BT and supplier resources through effective quote management.

  • To provide specific access related advice & assistance to Market Units to support customer access requirements.

  • To operate in accordance with specific guidelines & ensure all costs data & proposals are managed in accordance with BTGS processes & governance.

  • To support the implementation of BT pricing strategies, and ensure adherence to pricing policy, processes, models and tools

  • To support cross-functional costing activities, & customer costing issues for specific access products or within customer segments.

  • To establish close working relationships with access costing teams within supplier & partner organisations to ensure requests are handled efficiently & responses are timely & accurate.

  • To identify improvements that can be made in processes, costing tools, web resources etc & feedback to appropriate person/team for implementation.

  • To maintain & update contact lists, support information & documentation relating to access products & suppliers.

  • To proactively participate & be fully supportive in all Global Access Team Project Improvement Initiatives

  • Identify innovative ways to deal with bid requests, escalations & problems, gaining agreement & support from market units

  • Understand best practice & shared learning opportunities, improve knowledge share capabilities within access related activity

  • Manual quote TAT, combined completion (budgetary, firm) in WDs

SKILLS/EXPERIENCES

  • Experience - Understanding of pricing and commercial principles. Could be an entry level.

  • Industry or product knowledge - Telco or related industry

  • Communications - Demonstrable communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills.

  • Skills - Sound numerical, pricing and price compliance skills required to support commercially and regulatory sound decisions.
