About this role
Role is to act as the hands-on engineer in the Security Information and Event management team. The team is embarking on a new platform build and the teams’ area of focusing is on ECK and Kafka to consume and distribute security events.
As an Elastic engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, deploying, and managing Elasticsearch clusters on Kubernetes using Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK).
Your primary responsibilities will include optimizing cluster performance, scalability, and reliability, as well as monitoring and troubleshooting Elasticsearch. Additionally, you will support and provide guidance to teams, document architecture and configurations, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Experience with Kafka integration.
What you’ll be doing
Communication and collaboration
Involve in Architectural discussions and take decisions.
Design and documentation.
Kubernetes - Tools deployment and troubleshooting
Elasticsearch experience in K8s environment
Knowledge in Deployment Automation
Keep abreast of relevant technologies in the area. This may entail the following: reading, attending briefings and talks.
Contribute to the team. This entails participating (1) in knowledge-sharing, (2) in team discussions, (3) in defining and improving working procedures and (4) in organisation of team events.
Help colleagues in the team to grow by mentoring when required.
Keep abreast of relevant news and updates at BT. This may entail the following: attending briefings and talks.
Agree personal goals with the Team Lead for the year and work towards achieving these.
Qualifications:

Kubernetes - Tools deployment and troubleshooting
Elasticsearch experience in K8s environment
Knowledge in Deployment Automation
Kafka Integration
Low Level Design Architecture
