The Site Reliability Engineering Professional is responsible for supporting BT to be in the best position to deliver the service performance, reliability and availability that internal and external customers expect.
What you’ll be doing
As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job Responsibilities
Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Create secure and high-quality code and maintains the tools that run synchronously with appropriate systems
Develop scripts for automating complex business journeys and remove TOIL
Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements
Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required for the job
A Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field
Experience 2-5 years
Experience in tools like servicenow, github.
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
Hands-on practical experience in application development and operational stability
Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in an environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Experience in observability monitoring, service level objective alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk
