Why this role matters

This role matters because it manages the coverage of the Cisco alliance for an industry Vertical, and acts as the specified regional interface to Cisco. There are 3 Cisco Alliance Manager posts reporting to the Senior Cisco Alliance Manager:

  • Cisco Vertical Alliance Manager: Banking & Financial Services & AMEA

  • Cisco Vertical Alliance Manager: Technology, Life Sciences & Business Services & Americas

  • Cisco Vertical Alliance Manager: Retail Manufacturing & Logistics & Europe (including UK)

The scope of the partnership is to increase dramatically under DigiCo strategy. Goals are to deliver the Cisco annual plans held by portfolio (BT Cloud Connect, BT Compute, BT Security) and driving year on year Cisco growth in revenue and attached sale. Targets to be set in alignment with overall partner plan

CISCO Info:

  • Targeted to deliver Cisco objectives as set in joint partner plan.

18/19 as follows, growing in 19/20 MTP ( numbers in progress)

  • BFS & AMEA (33% total spend): £10.2m

  • TLSBS & Americas (20% total spend): £6.9m

  • RML & Europe (46% total spend): £13.9m

What you'll be doing

  • Closely aligning and inputting into the overall Alliance strategy working with the Senior Alliance Manager.

  • Working closely with the Vertical, designated region and Cisco global channel team on building and executing an alliance plan for the Vertical and region.

  • Driving joint account planning activities between Cisco Sales and BT Sales/ Solution Specialists, for your Vertical to deliver against target

  • Managing Cisco alliance commercial programmes within the Vertical and regional unit.

  • Inputting into proposition building in Digital Solutions by helping to define and manage Go To Market opportunities aligned to the Vertical/regional unit.

  • Managing relationships with Cisco Executives and stakeholders to guard BT reputation and influence.

  • Implementing the alliance governance for the Vertical/region (Executive engagement, QBR etc).

  • Ability to think strategically about the BT-Cisco relationship, input to high level BT strategy for the Cisco partnership, as well as to execute said strategy and go-to-market plan on a day to day basis.

  • Excellent relationship building ability.

  • Excellent account management.

  • Strong awareness of BT and Cisco technology, associated markets, and competitors.

  • Contract negotiation and management.

  • Commercial negotiation and management.

  • Subject Matter Expert in partner capabilities, culture, vision, strategic direction and ways of working.

  • Ability to develop Business Cases.

  • Familiarity with BT Global regulatory environment.

  • Contract negotiation and management.

  • Commercial negotiation and management

  • Desirable: Experience of Cisco’s Technologies, Partner Programmes, Partner Strategy and Go-To-Market Models.
