BTs DNS platform is underdoing a technology replacement and has a roadmap of activities that need to build on and extend the footprint of the service in the coming years. The ability to perform controlled automated deployments and software releases is critical to the success of the platform and enables BT to differentiate us from other service providers and generate additional revenue streams.

The role holder is expected to be able to work in an agile and dynamic environment and to own and evolve the platform build and software release process. that differentiate us from other service providers and generate additional revenue.

The role holder is expected to use their recognized technical strengths and influencing and negotiating skills to clearly explain their ideas and proposals to gain broad consensus when necessary.

What you'll be doing

  • Refining and running software delivery pipeline covering both initial platform build and incremental software deployments.

  • Problem solving as necessary

  • Drive the transformation of the technology platform and operating model in your area

  • Successfully delivering complex projects with competing demands and timescales.

In this role you will not initially be expected to manage people, however there is a possibility that in the future you may be asked to manage a small team or mentor and support new team members.

We'll also need to see these on your CV

  • System design experience

  • Automated build and deployment using scripting / testing / deployment automation tools, primarily Ansible, Nexus and Github

  • Experience of large scale telecom / IP network design

  • Influencing and negotiating skills
