This role within the Strategy Team will be responsible for the commercial management of key activities within Strategy & Incubation. It has a broad commercial remit ranging from business development and commercial negotiation through to relationship management of partners during the incubation period.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be:

• Managing the establishment of commercial relationships with new business partners

• Managing commercial and contractual negotiations with identified partners on behalf of Ventures

• Commercial relationship management of key incubator partners pre and post-launch

• Working closely with the Commercial & Performance Managers to define the commercial framework for proposed business relationships

• Working with the Financial Controller to ensure that suitable trading agreements and accounting constructs are in place to support sales through pan-BT channels

• Helping identify broader commercial opportunities with identified partners beyond initial engagement terms.

  • Entrepreneurial skills and practices with ability to apply these in a corporate environment

  • Problem solving and innovation skill

  • Excellent negotiating skills, mainly around closing significant commercial contracts

  • Strong commercial acumen, specifically evaluating business opportunity value, accurately sales forecasting

  • Great communication and influencing skills, in order to secure buy in to bold and well considered recommendations
