Why this job matters

As an FTTP Modelling & Analysis Manager, you’ll lead analysis and insight to support forecasting activities for FTTP, contributing towards defining major targets (e.g., revenue, market share) for the Openreach business. FTTP is a dynamic and fast-growing product that underpins the organisational ambition to build full fibre, “the network of the future”.

The commercial demand forecast for FTTP has a direct and material impact on Service Delivery resourcing decisions, costs and revenue generation in the short, medium and long term. You’ll work closely with teams across the business and have recognised visibility with the Operational units. You will provide analytical expertise and insight to improve the FTTP forecast accuracy and to understand the impact of the FTTP roll out on various aspects of the business. The FTTP modelling and analysis manager will also provide input to the development of business cases and sensitivity scenarios related to rapidly scaling FTTP in a challenging and uncertain economic environment.

You'll have the following responsibilities

  • Seen as the lead within Openreach for demand modelling and analysis for FTTP

  • Maintain, update and improve the existing suite of models used by the team using a number of different analytical programmes

  • Develop new analysis and models to help the business eg by improving forecasting accuracy, supporting commercial and operational decision making, providing information to OFCOM

  • Gain a full understanding of the data available regarding relevant products and request data where required for specific analysis and reporting

  • Gain a good understanding of both the marketplace and the delivery process for product

  • Support the Consumer Forecasting team in maintaining the Consumer Broadband Market Driver model

You'll need to have the following skills and experience

  • Demonstrate a strong business acumen coupled with commercial, analytical, and modelling skills

  • Able to design an appropriate statistical analysis to answer complex questions, identify and extract the data required, perform the analysis and draw conclusions on the basis of the outcome.

  • Expert knowledge of SQL plus knowledge of a statistical software package such as Python or R.

  • Ability to communicate the results of complex analysis in a simple and straightforward way and in a business context.

  • Familiar with analytical techniques such as logistic regression, survival modelling and time series analysis
