Working in the high-profile Group Commercial Finance team provides a fantastic opportunity to influence the execution of BT Group’s strategy. The Group Commercial Finance team supports the Group CEO, CFO, the BT Investment Board and other senior stakeholders to make key strategic decisions with the ultimate goal of maximising the long term returns on our investments.

In this role you can expect to provide value add commercial analysis to, and lead programmes with, all of our business units; Consumer, Business, Openreach, Networks, Digital and Corporate Units. Looking to the future, the breadth of experience gained in this role will open up an exciting and varied range of future career opportunities within BT.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide value adding commercial analysis and insight to key stakeholders across the business

  • Programme lead on the Group wide Economic Profit project to transform the way BT Group understands and delivers end to end financial performance

  • Partner with every area of the Group to embed a new way of thinking supported by the role out, and ownership, of new systemised tools

  • Provide Commercial Investment Appraisal and Valuation

  • Cost of Capital subject matter expert including formal annual review

  • Business partner to Group Strategy, Economics and Regulatory teams

  • Regular interface to key Group stakeholders providing strategic analysis that supports the formation of Group strategy

  • Support, coach and develop one direct report providing clear objectives and an environment where they can thrive

The skills you'll need

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)

  • Commercial analysis and/or business casing experience within a complex organisation

  • Ability to distil complex analysis into deep insight and recommendations

  • Strategic problem solving and commercial awareness

  • An excellent track record of effectively influencing senior stakeholders

  • Proactive and self-starter to identify and address potential analytical questions

  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills and a keen eye for detail
