Through a deep understanding of building and infrastructure, I have ownership of BT’s property and workplace asset and building infrastructure investment planning cycle. I drive best value property performance throughout its lifecycle, managing risk and consistently providing and appropriate working environments.

What you'll be doing

I manage a knowledge driven asset strategy which drives best value property performance throughout its lifecycle, and consistently provides and maintains optimum and appropriate working environments.

  • I lead the maintenance of the building fabric infrastructure asset inventory and associated information held for all UK estate.

  • I set and manages BT’s risk based decision making processes for asset maintenance and investment.

  • I devise and oversee the delivery of the referral and planned/scheduled survey programmes across the UK estate.

  • I own and manage the business cases for investment decisions in building assets.

  • I provide governance over the investment approval forum that is run by the external FM service partner.

  • I provide industry thought leadership to the P&FS team to ensure that BT P&FS remains at the cutting edge of asset and infrastructure investment thinking.

  • I manage a team to execute property strategy and provide services to a number of sites, or a specific geographic region, contributing to policy discussions and implementing policy decisions within own area.

  • I provide technical expertise, strategic consultancy to the business and thought leadership, ensuring feasibility of projects and programmes and delivery of real property and commercial benefit to the business unit or region of responsibility.

  • I identify and execute opportunities to deliver financial savings across the property portfolio within area of responsibility.

  • I maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships for the best possible value and return on investment for BT.

  • Analysis and storytelling with data : an ability to assimilate large quantities of complex information with a view to extracting points of relevance quickly and the ability to convey this in a compelling and persuasive way.

  • Understanding of regulatory framework : knowledge of local regulatory framework to support the compliant delivery of workplace services.

  • People management: ability to manage and lead a geographically dispersed team, driving great performance and engagement.

  • Complex programme management: able to plan, deliver and monitor complex programmes delivered through a number of discrete projects, recognising and managing interdependencies to ensure delivery on time, in budget and to the standards required.

We'll also need to see these on your CV

Experience of ensuring that the asset maintenance and investment plan meets legislative and mandatory framework requirements is essential.

  • Building surveyor and/or engineering degree level qualified with relevant industry experience on a national level

  • Experience of leading and working within a risk management based approach is essential.

  • Experience of developing complex business cases, often balancing multiple, complex and sometimes conflicting requirements is essential.

  • Senior level business planning and presentation skills is essential with experience of delivering to exec level colleagues is desirable.
