To ensure the estate and associated operations are providing the required level of service to minimise service disruptions. To work closely with BT CFUs and ensure that plans are in place and well understood to ensure the continuing operation of BT’s business with regards to the provision of suitable alternative workplaces.

What you'll be doing

I ensure BT's property estate and associated operations & processes are providing the required level of service resilience in the course of planned and unplanned operations to maintain delivery of external customer facing services.

  • Ensure that robust business continuity and service resilience plans are in place for all key locations across the BT estate.

  • Own and maintain the P&FS incident handbook, ensuring that continuity plans are robust, tested and ready to implement when needed and that all colleagues across BT and Openreach are educated and informed about their relevant responsibilities in the case of incidents.

  • Participate in and supports pan BT emergency exercises and coordinate specific exercises for the P&FS organisation.

  • Coordinate post incident reviews following unplanned business events and stewardship of agreed recommendations/actions.

  • Provide technical expertise, strategic consultancy to the business and thought leadership, ensuring feasibility of projects and programmes and delivery of real property and commercial benefit to the business unit or region of responsibility.

  • Identify and execute opportunities to deliver financial savings across the property portfolio within area of responsibility.

  • Maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships, for the best possible value and return on investment for BT.

  • Stakeholder engagement : able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders to fully understand and meet their needs.

  • Story-telling with data: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences.

Experience of business continuity planning and disaster recovery in a complex environment is essential.

  • Excellent engagement skills with BT colleagues up to senior level is essential, with experience up to MD level desirable.

  • Experience gained in a technical background and able to understand complex, technical requirements and standards.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including Incident investigation and report writing skills.
