Why this job matters
This person will be responsible for managing the demand forecasting process that drives supply planning to order stock and assures product availability. You will conduct detailed data analysis and build cross functional relationships that allow effective validation and challenge of the demand forecast across demand forecast across various categories such as devices, new markets and and other areas. This feeds into the supply planning operation which drives £1bn+ annual purchases.
What you’ll be doing
Interrogate and challenge forecast output, review trends, promotions, seasonality, understanding underlying assumptions and providing recommendations
Manage multiple stakeholders making decisions which directly impact forecast, supply efficiency & performance
Engage stakeholders in the forecasting process to provide understanding and constructive challenge
Track and highlight forecasting KPI’s to improve accuracy to allow savings in working capital budget and improve availability
Clear communication to all stakeholders to ensure a clear foundation for forecasting and improvements in accuracy
The skills you’ll need
Knowledge of forecasting and supply chain management
Able to build strong relationships and manage multiple stakeholders with appropriate tenacity
To be able to challenge stakeholders and processes constructively
Able to track, effectively communicate and highlight key issues/manage progress
Risk management and pro-active and decisive approach to solutions
Good analytical skills and presentation of data
