The role holder is responsible for leading a team of Account Managers developing BT’s Business Services customers (Big Consulting Firms / Recruitment Agencies). The team are responsible for the development of relationships at all levels in the customer organisation and an ability to sell and increase the share of customer IT and Telecoms spend with BT are key, therefore delivering revenue and margin growth. He/she negotiates at a high level, but with well-defined limits of delegation. He/she is a strong leader and is able to motivate others to maximise sales in their accounts. This role will be responsible for several key US accounts within the Business Services subvertical.

  • Relevant experience in the sales function dealing with major business services clients.

  • Good leadership skills in managing, motivating and coaching.

  • Can articulate the major trends in the communications industry and vertical market.

  • Can align industry trends with their likely impact in the market and on the customers supported.

  • Strong solution and product selling skills and expertise.

  • Good level of technical and commercial expertise and knowledge.

  • Record of achieving sales targets with a good commercial acumen.

  • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

  • Able to write compelling business proposals and input to written business responses as appropriate.

  • Good negotiation skills.

  • Motivated to achieve and a self-starter.

  • This role will acquire direct reports and a team to manage in the near term

We’ll also need to see this on your resume:

  • 5 years of experience with relationship management and direct sales

  • Track record of successfully growing an existing large account in terms of revenue growth, product penetration and customer satisfaction (i.e. NPS or other equivalent measure) and / or evidence of acquiring new customer accounts.

  • Extensive and varied global business experience; possibly with a MBA or similar post-graduate qualification.

  • Excellent leadership skills and a role model within the business i.e. evidence of building a talent pipelines

  • Demonstrate experience of building high performing global virtual teams

  • Track record of success in building relationship at C-level/senior manager/exec level

  • Has delivered or exceeded sales targets in major enterprise accounts

  • Developed and executed successful account plans to deliver business unit sales targets

  • P&L management

  • Global business experience

  • Ability to articulate technical and complex business issues and work with senior level customers and BT executives

  • Strong sales management/relevant sales and sales management experience: client engagement, pipeline building, opportunity qualification, deal management, business case generation, deal closure & handover

  • Excellent influencing and commercial skills

  • Manage revenue and gross margin for a cluster of global accounts and also manage sales performance and strategic growth of account

  • Manage E2E customer journey interfacing with Delivery & Service on delivery process and key customer issues

  • Working in a matrixed environment managing virtual teams of experts

  • Creative thinking and solutions to complex business problems including across geographies and cultures preferred

  • Experience in contract management and project delivery preferred
